History

What has been the history of National Tourism Day? When was it first celebrated? Unfortunately, there is no exact information about this. According to the information received, in 1948, a Tourist Traffic Committee was formed to promote tourism. A department exclusively dealing with tourism was established in 1958 under the Ministry of Tourism and Communications, headed by a Deputy General in Joint Secretary.

Importance

Every place in India, every state has its history. From this point of view, traveling in India can prove to be an interesting journey for tourists who are interested in history. By celebrating National Tourism Day, people come to know about the important places of India, and it also strengthens the economic sector of India. India is a vast ocean in terms of tourism, so this trade plays an important role in the country's economy.

Objective

The main objective of National Tourism Day is to make people aware of the importance of tourism in the country and abroad. Also, to educate people about the benefits of travel and the importance of tourism. India is diverse with its magnificent sea beaches, glorious forests, majestic mountain peaks. Through this, one can appreciate the culture and heritage of different parts of India and understand the country better.

The last few years have been very weak in tourism due to the Corona epidemic. Due to this, the tourism sector of the whole world has suffered a lot. Although the situation has not improved yet, India's tourism can get a big boost during the Amrit Festival of Independence. Therefore, in some states, the theme of National Tourism Day 2022 is being celebrated as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
